Sweetman’s (or Mullins) Castle, Thomastown, County Kilkenny, in August 1987 (river photo) and in July 1990.
The tower controls the bridge over the River Nore and was entered from the riverside. It is situated at a strategic point on the edge of the village.
It was in poor structural repair when these photographs were taken and the roof remains have subsequently completely collapsed. Of historic significance.
