Kilcash Castle, County Tipperary, in June 1986.
It is in the care of the Irish state and has been conserved by the Office of Public works, since this photograph was taken when the front facade was in a precarious state, which is good news.
Only three bays of a large adjoining house survive, out of the original ten bays as portrayed in a Du Noyer sketch.
It does not appear in the lists of Irish National Monuments.
Maybe someone can enlighten us as to its status and as to whether there is public access to this beautiful site on the slopes of Slievenamon?
