Castle hunting can lead down many blind alleys, especially in the days before the internet. One had no idea what was likely to be found. In this case, it was a small stack of stones, that originally made up the SW corner of the castle. Located behind a ruined national school.
The castle had been demolished 30 years, prior to our visit, in 1959. Before that it had been described as being 3 stories in height. There also had been a, now lost, sheela na gig, on the site in 1870.
