Inchiquin Castle, County Cork visited in May 1987.
Circular and very massive, 13’ thick walls at base, not to full height. 7/8 of the circle remains. Mural passage. Possible garderobe Shute to SSW. Internal diameter approx 8 metres. Looks like there was a dome over 1st floor. 3’ projection like part of a dome at first floor level. Walls above not so thick allowing for greater internal width. Some bad structural cracks. There were timber structures to the west of the castle for domestic use.
