Curraghoo Castle, County Cork in August 1986. It was in very ruined condition, although the owners at the time would have liked the Irish Nation to restore it. There was a good stone evident at approx 7 foot high, indicating where the door hinge went. Vault over ground floor – very narrow. Hatch from 1st floor through the vault. Ash tree growing out of the top of the building. A spiral stairs in the south east corner led to the second floor, also vaulted. The spiral continued to a green platform, out of which the tree was growing. Old ivy had been cut at some stage. 2 loops on ground floor. Garderobe Shute on west wall at the south east corner.
