Cornaveigh Castle between Mount Uniacke and Youghal in May 1987. Only a red sandstone stump remained. Very thick walls. It was covered in ancient ivy. Remains of complicated site works were apparent, with some possible ditches. On a hill, overlooking the Tourig River. There was a vault over the first floor and the remains of a straight mural stair leading to a chamber over the front door. It had been extensively quarried, but it was still possible to see the murder hole over the stairs.
