Lismalin Castle, County Tipperary, in August 1987.
Thank you to the person who confirmed that I had the correct name on this one.
My notes state that it was not to full height, it had been messed around and the inside had been quarried. No vault, fireplace on second floor. Remains of garderobe chute on west wall. Original entrance blocked on north wall. Spiral in NE corner, top part had collapsed. Many windows later blocked. Interesting shot hole/ventilator hole on south wall, probably damaged.
Well nearby, with remains of high bawn wall to east of castle. Stone work not great, however the windows and quoins had some well cut stone. Remains of what appeared to be original render on exterior.
